A wide selection of disposable polymeric
micro and nano trap columns with no column holder or any replaceable
parts.
Also,
Fused Silica capillary replacement for Upchurch Sample Trap
Columns.
Unlike Silica, STYROS™ polymeric matrices are stable at extremes of pH, do not leach, dissolve or swell.
The high capacities of STYROS™ media make it possible to use smaller bed trap.
With bed volumes as low as 24 nl and up to 12 µl, and a selection of 19 different stationary phases, it is possible to:
pre-concentrate sample
trap specific components in a mixture
desalt a biopolymer solution
remove detergent from samples
use combinations of column trap in Mud PIT formats
switch column during 2-D, 3-D chromatography, etc.
Additional
trap columns of 1 µl to 88 µl of bed volumne
are also offered with the same large selection
of STYROS™ media.

They range in ID from 175 µm to 750 µm and in length, from 50 mm to 200 mm.
Flow characteristics of STYROS™ 2R (Reversed Phase) 750 µm ID Trap Column of 200mm length run with 5% ACN in H2O at 30º C.

Flow characteristics of STYROS™ 2R (Reversed Phase) 250 µm ID Trap Column of 150mm length run with 5% ACN in H2O at 30º C.

The micro and nano Trap Columns are listed in full with all the polymeric stationary phases available from OraChrom.
These columns can be connected in a multitude of setting using 1/16” tubing.
They can withstand up to 2,500 psi of back pressure without collapsing. They can also be placed within the loop of an injection valve for automated loading or elution.
The Columns are stand alone and complete. No holder is needed to operate the Trap Columns.
The smaller Nano Trap Columns come in pack of 5, the larger Micro Trap Columns are sold in sets of 2.

Micro and Nano Trap Columns

Trap Columns are used to clean up or concentrate controlled amounts of samples prior to elution to a detector.

A 10-port valve can also be used to concentrate samples prior to injection to a Micro LC column.
Using the auxiliary pump, large amounts of samples are concentrated in the trap column. The trap column is then switched in series with the Micro LC column.
